Planning

Most new buildings or major changes to existing buildings or to the local environment need consent – known as planning permission.  The Council's Planning Service is responsible for deciding whether a development – anything from an extension on a house to a new shopping centre – should go ahead.

If you have any special needs in order to access our services please phone us on 01708 433100.  We will do our best to help you get the information you need, such as providing a translation service, producing documents in large print or providing a home visit if physical mobility problems mean you are not able to come to us.
