Publication Scheme

A publication scheme is a commitment by a public authority to make certain information available and a guide to how that information can be obtained.

Havering's publication scheme is available online and provides guidance on information that the Council publishes or intends to publish. It includes details of the information such as the format, where the information is available and whether costs apply.

This scheme ensures that a significant and growing amount of information is easily available without the need to make a specific request.

The Information Commissioner's Office (ICO) has introduced a model publication scheme that Havering Council adopted in its entirety and unedited from the 1st January 2009.  This replaced our previous scheme. This website is the basis of our publication scheme.

The model publication scheme lists the kinds of information we provide organised into seven classes of information. The information is available via the publication scheme in the following ways:

  • A web page, searchable database or downloadable document on this website:
  • A printed copy from one of our Service contact points:
  • A printed copy available for inspection at our offices.

Publication does not refer solely to printed material; it includes material on our website, printed books, reports and leaflets.

For help navigating around our website please see the Site Map tab near the top of the screen.
