Over the next year we will collect £135m in council tax. From this we give £28m to the Greater London Authority to fund the Police, Fire brigade and Transport for London.
The remaining £108m is added to our grant from central government, giving us £163m to spend on services in Havering over the coming financial year.
The calculation is based upon a proportional formula - using band D as follows:
A:6, B:7, C:8, D:9, E:11, F:13, G:15, H:18. For example A is six ninths of D etc.
A prompt payment discount of 1.5% can be applied if the bill is paid in full by 1 April.
