You can now check your refuse and recycling collection day by using the postcode lookup!
Collection sacks should be placed on the boundary of the property by 7am on the day of collection. You should avoid leaving sacks out overnight.
Please be aware that we cannot guarantee the collection of sacks placed out after this time.
It is important that sacks are placed on the boundary of your property and not left with other residents waste and/or on grass verges, by a post or on the public highway (including footpaths). This is to ensure that waste collections do not cause litter/fly-tipping issues or impede access.
For this purpose the refuse collection crew are also not able to gather waste from several properties to create piles, as this can cause issues of littering or problems if sacks are not collected.
What we can and cannot collect
The weekly refuse collection service is for general household waste only and does not include: garden waste or clinical waste. Small amounts of broken glass, sharp objects or dog faeces are permissible but they must be well wrapped.
For further information please see the Clinical Waste section.
2012 Bank Holiday Collection Dates
Please note that all revised collection arrangements also apply to the green bin, clinical, cardboard and trade waste services.
Assisted Collections
We do provide assisted collections for residents who are disabled or frail. This means that refuse is collected from a location that is convenient for you, e.g. from your front or back door.
Please contact the Streetcare Call Centre on 01708 432563 if you require this service.
