School Term Dates
Term date calendars can be downloaded from the right hand side of this page via the Download section.
Please note that these term dates do not include the five non-pupil days, the first of which is always the first day in the autumn term. The remaining four days are arranged by the Head Teacher and School Governors and you should contact the schools directly for these dates.

Holidays during term time
As a Parent/Carer, you can demonstrate your commitment to your child's education by, whenever possible taking your holidays during school holidays. It is important that children attend school regularly if they are to benefit from the learning opportunities provided. The time that teachers have to help all the children in a class is reduced if they spend time helping a child catch up after a holiday.
You should not take your child on holiday in term time as it can be disruptive both to your child's education and to the school.
Leave of absence in term time can only be agreed by the Head Teacher or someone with appropriate authority. Schools can use their discretion to grant up to 10 days' authorised absence in a school year if the circumstances are exceptional.
Schools must judge each holiday request on a case by case basis.
Exceptional circumstances are determined by the school. The school will advice you of their procedure for applying for leave of absence under exceptional circumstances.
The LA advice to Schools and Governing Bodies is that unless the circumstances are deemed exceptional and the child is taken out of school, the absence must be marked as 'unauthorised' in the school register. This record of attendance forms part of your child's school report.
Unauthorised absences are monitored by the Education Welfare Service, which may lead to a prosecution.
