In other cases where the illegally parked vehicle is causing an obstruction or where the owner has not paid for release of a clamp, then it will be removed and taken to our vehicle pound.
We will also remove vehicles from persistent offenders who flout the law and do not pay for their penalty charge notices.
What should I do if my car has been clamped?
If your vehicle has been clamped, you will need to follow the release instructions affixed to the vehicle .The clamp release charge and penalty charge notice (PCN) must be paid before the vehicle is released. You are entitled to appeal after you have paid the relevant parking ticket and release charge.
What should I do if my car has been towed away?
If your car is not parked where it was left, it may have been towed away. You can telephone the TRACE service on 0207 474747, who will advise you where the vehicle has been taken and how much the release fee is.
The vehicle release fee and penalty charge notice must be paid before the vehicle will be released. Depending on the length of the time the vehicle has been stored there may be additional charges. You are only entitled to appeal after you have paid the relevant penalty charge notice and release charges.
The charges applied are as follows:
- £70 to release clamp
- £200 to release from the pound
- £40 storage fee per day
- £70 disposal

If you do not take the appropriate steps to claim your vehicle, then the Council will take the appropriate steps to dispose of the vehicle. Disposal does not mean that any charges are waived.
The Council will take action to recover any unpaid penalty charge notices, clamp charges, removal charges and storage charges.
