Voluntary organisations - funding

Volunteering is a great way to get involved in the community and really make a difference. Whether you are looking for something full-time or can spare a few hours every week, you will find plenty of organisations always in need of an extra helping hand.

Why become a volunteer?

As well as giving your support to your favourite cause, volunteering could give you the opportunity to experience something different, meet new people, build up your CV and learn new skills.

Follow the links to see what you can do to help - and what volunteering can do to help you!

Samaritans

Havering Samaritans need more volunteers. The only requirements are the ability to listen without prejudice and to offer support without giving advice. All volunteers receive full training. In exchange for your commitment, all we can offer is your satisfaction for helping, locally, some of the thousands of people who call Samaritans each day and night.

If you are interested or just want to find out more about the work that Samaritans do please contact us.

You can telephone 01708 740000 between 10:30am and 8pm or send an e-mail to samrecruit@bigfoot.com

We really need your support - as do our callers.
