Cycling in Havering

With miles of cycle paths and scenic routes through our parks and open spaces, there's never been a better time to get out of your car and on your bike!

The borough is a great place to ride your bike - whether you're commuting to/from work or school, exercising, or simply having fun.

An extensive network of quiet traffic-free roads which form part of the National Cycle Network make travelling from A to B safe and quick, and the large number of parks and open spaces in Havering also offer great opportunities to get onto two wheels.

To encourage more people of all ages to get in the saddle and discover cycling, regular bike security marking in Romford Market, led rides around the area for beginners and enthusiasts alike, and riding and maintenance courses are all provided so that you can get the most out of your bike.

Protect your bike

Havering is working with local police to protect against bike thieves.

On the first Saturday of the month the police set up a stall in Romford Market and offer free cycle marking/tagging. Getting your bike marked and added to the Bike Register database discourages thieves and enables the police to return recovered stolen bikes. The police can also offer the advice on the best way to counter bike theft.
