The vehicles, which are all wheelchair accessible, operate on the major bus routes, but being smaller then most buses, are able to travel into restricted areas, where they operate on a 'Hail and Ride' basis.
Our drivers are Disability Awareness trained, and the vehicles carry a full set of safety equipment for the protection of all passengers irrespective of their mobility.
The routes have been so successful that during 2000 we were awarded a certificate from Havering Association for the Disabled for our contribution to access for all residents.
Our community bus routes are not just for disabled or elderly people. Any person can use them for a modest fare.
In providing community transport we will consider requests from any residents, or groups of residents, for the provision of transport in those areas that are not normally served by public transport For some organisations we have set up a once a week service into major shopping areas.
