Great news for local business and residents - the Haveringcard, an initiative by Havering Council to ease the effects of recession on the local economy, has gone from strength to strength since its launch in 2009.
By using the Haveringcard you can access money savings, discounts and special offers on goods and services simply by showing your card when you use local businesses that are members of the scheme.
For local businesses, the Haveringcard is a chance to attract more custom from people living on their doorstep in return for a discount or special offer. The scheme is free to join.
What businesses offer is up to them: it could be a free taster session or introductory offer; 10% off certain goods or services, a buy one, get one free offer or discounted entry.
More than 600 local businesses – from shops to shoe repairers; driving schools to dry cleaners; plumbers to opticians and hairdressers - have signed up to Haveringcard.
You can see the complete list of businesses that accept the Haveringcard by downloading
The Haveringcard Directory August 2009 [463kb].
Additional cards are available to residents in Public Advice & Service Centres and in the borough's libraries.
