Habitat: River, scattered trees, semi improved neutral grassland, amenity grassland, tall herbs.
The Rom is quite narrow and fast flowing within this stretch. Within this site the river flows between an avenue of trees and shrubs chiefly composed of crack willow and hawthorn. The associated vegetation is considerably more diverse than elsewhere and includes unbranched bur-reed, fool's watercress, watercress, reed canary-grass, water pepper, Russian comfrey and abundant Indian balsam. The banks are covered in a mosaic of semi improved neutral grassland, amenity grassland and tall herbs.
