Have your say

Havering Council is committed to consulting with all of the people who have any involvement with our services and our Borough. The Council and other local groups who work in Havering need your views to help plan for the future.

We need you to tell us how well we are doing and what we need to do to better meet your needs. All the groups working in Havering welcome the views from as many people as possible, and from as many backgrounds as possible..

Consultations in Havering

Live consultations are shown in GREEN and appear throughout the Consultations listings (you must keep clicking on 'Next 10 consultations' button to see them all).

CLICK on ACTIVE & LIVE CONSULTATIONS (link or link on RIGHT) - there are more than 50 - for details of our consultations - and those of other organisations such as the Police.

You can search for the subjects that you are interested in or for the consultations that affect the area where you live.

If you are planning a consultation you can search for forthcoming consultations that may cover the locations or subjects that you are working with. You can also search for completed consultations to see what is already understood. 

Getting involved

Many different organisations work with the people who run the council's services. If you want to get involved with a service that interests you or affects you, then here is where to find out how. Click on 'Getting Involved' on the left hand side of this page.

There is a link to this in the top right corner of this page; the strategy lays down our standards for consultation, and the broad reasons for carrying them out, linking them together and using them to influence and shape our services.

Are you interested in taking part in consultations?

If your are, then you will be interested in our Mailing List. Click on the link 'Consultations and Mailing List ' on the right hand side of this page. Then, go to the mailing list link and tell us the subjects that you are interested in.

We will email you when events or consultations are coming up that should be of interest to you. Your personal details will not be passed on to any third party.

Living in Havering

Every year we commission the research company MORI to ask residents about life in Havering. We use the results from this major piece of work to shape our services. Some examples from the autumn 2006 survey:

In 2003/4, 55% of respondents said that Road and Pavement repairs were a priority for improvement.  In 2006/7 it was 49%. 
Capital Funding programmes moved forward with a number of successful carriageways and footway schemes completed to the value of £1.5m and on time!
81% of residents are satisfied with the waste collection overall.  25% think that the collection of household waste has got better.
The Green Waste Collection scheme commenced, with more than 5000 customers in place.
In 2003/4 52% said abandoned and burnt out cars was a problem in their area.  In 2006/6 only 11% agreed.
There has been a significant improvement in abandoned vehicles removal performance during 2006/7, with averages at the lowest level for three years and the time taken to remove is now less than half a day.
