The Environmental Strategy Unit is the first point of contact for archaeological information in Havering. its role is to:
Countryside and conservation
Despite the urban impression Havering might give to a casual visitor, protected countryside makes up nearly half of the borough.
Environmental education
The Environmental Education Service is working to increase awareness, respect and understanding for the local environment. Most of our work is with local schools through activities, lessons and workshops although the information contained here is open to all sectors of the community.
Parks and open spaces
We all need green, open spaces to recharge our batteries. Fortunately for residents and visitors, Havering has more than its fair share of parkland and protected countryside. In fact, it covers more than half of the borough.
