Upminster is the borough's 3rd largest town centre. It is a thriving commercial centre, though heavily reliant on a local department store for its viability. The centre has benefited from private sector investment is shops and public investment in the public realm. It is well served by public transport, being at the end of the District Line and this would create future opportunities for creating a sustainable community in and around the town centre.
