"Bulky" collections for large items

Havering's household bulky collection service is a service provided to residents for household furniture and other items that cannot go in with normal domestic refuse collections.

We will collect the requested items from outside your property, within your boundary, if you live in a house. We will not collect from the public highway. If you reside in a flat, we would request that you leave your items on the ground floor, not blocking any access, causing any obstruction to other residents or within bin storage areas.

How Much Does it Cost?

Please see below for the Points scale for items. Concessionary rates are available for those in receipt of Income or disability support, or aged over 60. The Council reserves the right to verify the information provided is correct.

Total cost:

10 points = £18.70 (£14.00 concessionary rate)

11 to 20 points = £37.35 (£28.00 concessionary rate)

21 to 30 points = £56.00 (£42.00 concessionary rate)

NO REFUNDS WILL BE GIVEN.

There are several payment methods that you can choose from: 

• Debit card payment by contacting the StreetCare Call Centre 01708 432563. 
• Application form. You can contact the StreetCare Call Centre number and request an application form, which you can send back via post with a cheque. Alternatively, a form can be found in the Downloads section of this page, printed and sent back with a cheque.
• You can visit one of our Public Advice Service Centres (PASC's) based in Romford, Collier Row and Upminster.

If you are leaving fridges or freezers outside your home for collection, please remove the doors to ensure the safety of children.

We are currently unable to dispose of trade fridges. To find out who can dispose of your trade fridge, call the Environment Agency on 08708 506 506.

Service standard

We aim to provide an effective and environmentally sound disposal service to our residents. We will collect your items within ten days of receiving your request.  You must put your items outside your property once you have paid or sent payment.

Please note:

We do not collect any builders rubble or materials; sheets of glass; garden sheds; garden waste etc.

Conditions

• Please have items available for collection 48 hours after sending in this form. The Council will endeavour to complete collection within 10 working days.
• Only those items listed will be collected. Items must be placed in a position of easy access at ground floor level, preferably in the front garden.
• The Council will not accept liability for loss, damage, etc. to property during the removal of items for collection.
• The Council reserves the right to refuse to remove any item on the grounds of inaccessibility or potential hazard to staff.
• This service is non-refundable. Refunds will not be given under any circumstances.
