Gerpins Lane Reuse and Recycling Centre (RRC) is the disposal site for household waste and recycling.

It is free of charge for residents to deposit household waste on site. Please ensure you bring proof of address, such as a utility bill or Council Tax bill.

The site accepts many types of waste from general domestic rubbish to more difficult wastes, such as car tyres and cooking oil. For a full list of materials that are accepted please see below:

• Green waste
• Plastic bottles
• Sheet glass
• Scrap metal
• Timber
• Textiles and shoes
• Car batteries
• Household batteries
• Engine Oil
• Cooking Oil
• Fluorescent lighting tubes/Energy-saving light bulbs 
• Tyres
• Domestic fridges/white goods
• Certain gas bottles/cylinders (please contact Shanks for details)
• Electrical goods
• TV's and Computers
• Rubble
• Asbestos (proof of address needed - please contact Shanks first)

The site also accepts commercial waste, Mon - Fri, 8:00 am- 4:30 pm at a charge.

The waste from Gerpins Lane is taken to the specially designed Materials Reclamation Facility at Frog Island where the waste is further sorted and materials are recovered for recycling. Green waste is sent to a composting facility and turned into a soil improver.

Please ensure you do not use orange recycling sacks to transport materials to Gerpins Lane. Orange sacks are for the household collection of recycling only.
