Because of government guidance on coronavirus a number of our buildings are now closed and events listed on our site are subject to change or cancellation. Parks

Our parks are open however you must observe the Government and NHS advice on social distancing such as keeping 2 metres away from other people. Play areas, tennis courts and outdoor gyms should not be used. People who need to stay at home and self-isolate must do so.

Libraries, leisure centres and arts service changes

All Havering libraries and leisure centres are closed. Havering Music School and Fairkytes Arts Centre are closed. The pre-school on the Fairkytes site is open on in line with government guidance on schools. Our arts and sports events and activity programmes are all cancelled. Our ebooks and audio books, and some online resources, have been extended to temporary members.

Family History Group

  • Held on the first Monday of every month from 2pm till 4pm between 4 November 2019 and 7 October 2030

Come along and discuss your family history.

A new Family History group will be starting at Hornchurch library. Why not come along and discuss your family history, help others who are stuck or need advice, and learn new things. The group will be run by a qualified genealogist; it costs £1.50 and includes tea/coffee and cake. The group will meet once a month on the first Monday of the month.
