Garden waste service

With our garden waste service you can order one or more 240-litre wheeled green bins to put your garden waste into.

Garden waste is collected every other week (except two weeks over Christmas) and disposed of for a fee of £55 a year per bin.

You sign up to the service with an annual contract and we send contract renewal letters and emails with your contract details (reference number and charges) normally from the first week of March, over a several week period, each year.

Renew your garden waste contract

The 2018/19 renewal period for your garden waste contract is open and runs from 5 March 2018 for several weeks.

Reminder emails and letters are being sent to you depending on your contact preference and location. This means, as the renewal period runs over several weeks, you may not get a reminder until the end of the renewal period but the roads near you get reminders at the start of the period.

Collections for new contract subscriptions made between March and April 2018 will start from 1 April 2018.

This year we are introducing stickers for garden waste bins.

If you sign up or renew the service you will receive a sticker for your bin or bins.

You should receive your sticker 14 days after subscribing or renewing.

Please note: Stickers will not be issued for compostable sacks.

The sticker shows that you have paid for one garden waste bin to be emptied during the period stated on the sticker. If you have paid for more than one bin you should have a sticker for each bin.

If you are missing a sticker please let us know by using our enquiry form and selecting 'Garden Waste Sticker' from the dropdown.

The sticker should be displayed as shown in your letter. If the sticker is not visible to our collection crew on your collection day your bin will not be emptied and we will not return.
