Health and home care parking permit
Health and home care parking permits allow professional businesses or charities to park in resident permit bays and meter bays when visiting their clients.
To apply you will need:
- your details
- your company’s details
- your vehicles details
- an up to date job profile and person specification
- a letter of authorisation from your line manager, on headed paper
The permit allows you to park on single yellow lines but it does not allow you to park on double yellow lines, in bus lanes, restricted bus stops, red routes, clearways, footpaths, where there are loading only restrictions or where you may cause an obstruction.
Permit holders are not permitted to park in voucher bay and you cannot use then for attending meetings, visiting a company or Council offices or for shopping for your clients.
The cost of an annual health and home care permit is £60.
There is an admin fee of £25.50 if you require changes or if the permit is lost or stolen.
If you experience problems when applying for a permit, or for any queries, please contact us using our online enquiry form.
When you need to renew your permit
From 23 March to 13 July 2020 permit renewals were suspended due to the impact of coronavirus on our operations.
As a result we are giving you a 3 month extension to your renewal.
We are doing this by changing the date you need to renew on, moving it 3 months ahead of your normal renewal date.
Please check the table below to find your new renewal date.
The table shows you the period your permit expires in and then the date you should renew by eg if your permit expiry date is 28 February 2021 you must make sure you have renewed your permit before 28 May 2021.
While you wait for your new renewal period, and your existing permit expires, please continue to display your existing permit.
Our enforcement officers will check the permit expiry date, the licence plate number and your zone and will not issue a ticket if you are within the 3 month extension period.
Please remember the extension only applies to the zone your permit is for.
When you renew, this will become your new annual renewal date so do remember when you need to renew for the following year as we do not send a reminder.
