Sub-groups of the board
The board has four sub groups which have been established to deliver the board's work plan; each is chaired by a member of the board and has its own terms of reference.
Quality, effectiveness and audit sub group
The key role of the group is to monitor and evaluate the effectiveness of activities undertaken by Havering Safeguarding Adults Board (HSAB) organisations, individually and collectively, to safeguard and promote the welfare of adults in Havering and advise them on ways to improve their practice further.

Community engagement sub group
The community engagement sub group consists of voluntary and community groups and organisations with a key role to raise awareness of safeguarding within our local community and to educate our local community on the topic of safeguarding. It is currently working to support the board’s prevention strategy.

Prevention sub group
A prevention sub group is overseeing the implementation of the board’s prevention strategy. The vision of the prevention strategy is for Havering residents to be able to live a life free from harm, where communities: have a culture that does not tolerate abuse; work together to prevent abuse and know what to do when abuse happens.
Prevention sub group terms of reference
Transitions sub group
To review current children to adults services transitions policies and procedures in health and local authority services in Havering. To audit compliance with existing policies and procedures, highlighting and sharing good practice initiatives and to disseminate learning from policy and practice reviews.
To provide assurance to the LSAB and LSCB of policy compliance with regard to transitions. Liaising, coordinating and responding appropriately to actions agreed by:
- Local Safeguarding Children's Board (LSCB)
- Local Safeguarding Adults Board (LSAB)
