Telecare is equipment and services that supports safety and independence in the home.
The equipment can sense risks such as smoke, floods and gas.
It can also can remind you to take pills and even call for help if you fall.
A help centre can be contacted automatically if any of these problems occur in your home.
If needed the help centre can arrange for someone to come to your home or can contact your family, doctor or emergency services.
The system can also warn you of problems by sounding an alarm, flashing lights or vibrating a box which can be kept in your pocket or under your pillow.
Havering Telecare Centre provides a 24 hour, seven day a week monitoring and response service.
We have our own team of installers who are able to offer a service to suit you.

The Lifeline provides a hub for telecare in the home, it works with a number of the devices below which can be chosen depending on the needs of the user.
Once activated the Lifeline sends a call through to the call centre telling them there is possible emergency. The call centre will find out what has happened and then take action if needed.
The Pendant and Minuet Watch
The Pendant can be worn around the neck on a cord or on the wrist via a strap. If the person falls they can press a button to alert the contact centre. The system relies on the person remembering to wear the device.
The Minuet Watch has been developed to help encourage telecare users to wear their device throughout the day by combining an alarm button into a high quality watch

The Bed/Chair Sensor helps people who get up from their beds during the night and fail to return after a specified period of time.
The iVi intelligent pendant allows the wearer to press a help button to generate an alarm call when they need help from anywhere in their home, 24 hours a day. The iVi also automatically
generates a call for assistance if a fall is detected and the wearer is unable to push the help button.
The Vibby is a wrist worn Fall Detector designed to identify a serious fall that leads to a state of unconsciousness and immobility of the user.

Alarms and detectors
The Carbon Monoxide Alarm provides an immediate alert when dangerous CO emissions have been detected due to a blocked flue or fault in a fuel burning appliance. It alerts the person and the call centre.
The Flood Detector is a small wireless sensor that can provide an early warning of potential flood situations. If this happens is will automatically alert the call centre.
Smoke Detectors raise an alarm call at the call centre while also activating a loud alarm in the property.
Carbon Monoxide Alarm
Medication Dispensers provide sound and light alerts to the user each time medication should be taken. If the user fails to access the medication, an alert is raised to the monitoring centre or carer so that action can be taken to ensure that the medication programme is maintained.
Property Exit Sensor
The Property Exit Sensor alerts the call centre when a client has walked out of their door and not returned so that carers can check they are ok.
The sensor can also provide an alert when a client has left an external door open for a specified period of time so that action can be taken to ensure that it is closed quickly and the building is secured.
