Library volunteers
Havering has 10 libraries and a local studies and family history centre promoting books and offering a variety of services:
- the latest bestsellers and classics - on hardback, paperback and as e-books
- a delivery service of books to residents who are stuck at home
- information and activities for children, young people and families
- IT sessions to improve computer and digital skills - from setting up email accounts to ordering shopping online
- local history and archives
...and much more.
A wide range of opportunities
We are looking for a huge variety of volunteers to help with everything from creating exciting book displays to shelving books. We require volunteers to help us with baby-bounce events and to teach people how to use computers - right through to visiting different places as an ambassador for the library service - helping us to reach more people.
