Parks

We are not closing parks at this stage as we are mindful of the health and well-being benefits of being outside. However, you must rigidly observe the Government and NHS advice on social distancing such as keeping 2 metres away from other people. Play areas, tennis courts and outdoor gyms should not be used at this time. People who need to stay at home and self-isolate must do so. If the guidance is not followed this position on parks and open spaces will be reviewed.

Arts service changes

Havering Music School and Fairkytes Arts Centre are closed. The pre-school on the Fairkytes site is open on in line with government guidance on schools. Our arts and sports events and activity programmes are all cancelled.

Library closures

All Havering libraries are closed. Read more

Leisure centres are closed

Given the directive from government, the centres will no longer open.

Fairkytes Live

Fairkytes Live is Hornchurch's newest live music venue. Situated within the Annexe of Fairkytes Arts Centre it has a licensed bar and has been the recent host to a success of local talent including rock bands, singers and even an accordion player. Last Band Standing 2019

The search is on for the best bands in Havering. On 18 October 2019 Fairkytes Live will host a competition to find the best band in the borough.

Many of the bands that have come through Last Band Standing have been invited back to Fairkytes Live for further performances and several of last year's entrants will be featured on the Fairkytes Live Stage at the Havering Show over the August Bank Holiday. Havering’s Voice 2019

The search is on for the best vocalists in Havering and applications are open now. In September 2019 Fairkytes Live will host a competition for the best singers in the borough. The winners of last year’s competition will be featured on the Fairkytes Live Stage at the Havering Show over the August Bank Holiday. Havering’s 2020 SEND Performance Night

Following on from the success of the 2019 SEND performance night, Havering Council have scheduled a second night on Friday 28 February 2020 and applications are welcome now. This event is open to all SEND performers. The headliners of this year’s event will be featured on the Fairkytes Live Stage at the Havering Show over the August Bank Holiday. Tickets will be on sale for 2020 events later on in the year.
