Affordable housing

Many of the sites sold by the Council may be suitable for residential development (subject to consents) and this will often involve some element of affordable housing. Purchasers would need to consider the requirement for affordable housing as part of any planning application. 

The provision of affordable housing will usually involve a Registered Social Landlord and the Council's Housing Service has prepared a preferred list of such organisations.

Prospective purchasers are encouraged to consider these preferred organisations for the provision of affordable housing, but there is no obligation - as a condition of sale to use only the Registered Social Landlords on the list.
