The StartUp Britain Bus visited Romford Market on Friday 14 October to provide practical information and advice for dozens of entrepreneurs who are thinking about starting, or have recently started a business.

Havering Council Deputy Cabinet Member Councillor Jason Frost said:

"We are pleased to be working with the StartUp Britain team as we continue to provide support for our budding entrepreneurs.  We have a great community of specialists in Havering who have been enabling our young businesses to receive impartial advice in setting up and growing their businesses."

Manzurul Islam, from Mullis & Peake Solicitors was one of the experts on hand to provide advice and said:

“I had my own start-up business and I would have loved to have had some support and direction from other local businesses – just like the advice that is available on this bus today!”

Other advisors on board included Barry Hicks from the Havering Chamber of Commerce and Industry and Nick Howe, the Regional Enterprise Manager for NatWest.

Nick Howe said:

“People don’t view bank branches as places to get advice so every day I go out to give the next generation of entrepreneurs advice on how to set up and grow businesses. Our visit to Romford is part of a ten day tour of London boroughs that we selected based on their interest in supporting budding entrepreneurs.”

Barry Hicks said:

“It was great to see a lot of members of the Chamber attending the bus and being in a position to help a number of young people get on the business ladder.”
