Council provides flooding advice at drop-in surgery

Published: Thursday, 27 October 2016

Havering Council in partnership with The Environment Agency is hosting a drop-in surgery that will provide advice on flooding and how to help prevent the effects of flooding on Tuesday 8 November, 2.30pm-8.30pm.

The surgery has been organised following the severe flooding that occurred earlier in the year. There will be a number of organisations in attendance to provide flooding information on the day including the National Flood Forum, London Fire Brigade, and the Met Office.

This surgery can also be attended by residents who haven’t been affected by recent flooding but want to ensure they are prepared.

The surgery will be held at the Forest Row Centre, Lodge Lane, Collier Row, Romford, RM5 2LD.

Councillor Osman Dervish, Cabinet Member for the Environment said:

“The flooding in Havering was terrible. Many residents were affected and it’s important that we provide services like the drop-in surgery to ensure that everyone is informed on the best practices to help them deal with flooding, if it was to happen again.”
