Help us improve our website

New website
Published: Wednesday, 2 November 2016

The Council is making its website simpler, clearer and easier for residents to use, launching a new home page today (Wednesday 2 November 2016).

Councillor Roger Ramsey, Leader of the Council, said:

“The homepage has been redesigned, the search engine improved and it’s now much quicker to reach the most used sections on the site from any device, including tablets and smart mobile phones.

“With 1.3million people visiting the site each year, we’re making it easier to find our most popular online services. If residents need to order or renew a parking permit, change their address for Council Tax, report missed rubbish collections, need a housing repair or pay for a wide range of services, they will find it much easier to do now.

“This is just the beginning of a whole series of improvements we’re making to the website. Over the next few months we’ll be changing the complete look and feel, making the site very straight forward to use.

“We’ll be getting rid of the information that doesn’t help residents and improving the information that does and making sure they are never more than four clicks away from any part of the site.”

As the Council improves the website section-by-section there will be links to the current site but these will all be replaced with new easy to navigate pages by April 2017.
