Havering Social Worker short-listed for prestigious national award
Jackie Dowdling beat competition from across the country to be short listed for Community Care’s Children Social Worker of the year awards.
More than 80 social workers and social work teams have been selected as finalists for this year’s prestigious Social Work of the Year Awards.
In total, 81 social workers and teams will compete to win awards in 16 categories in November, and one lucky social worker will be picked as the Overall Social Worker of the Year 2017.
Councillor Linda Van den Hende, Mayor of Havering, said:
“It was a pleasure to meet Jackie, who has been based in Havering Children’s since 2004. This national recognition is a huge honour for Havering Council and Jackie who has shown true dedication throughout her 34 years in social care. I wish her lots luck at the awards.”
