Havering’s Poppy Appeal was launched in the Mercury Mall Romford on Wednesday 1 November with a large number of veterans joined by Havering’s Mayor, Cllr Linda Van den Hende, Havering Council Leader Cllr Roger Ramsey and the MP for Romford, Andrew Rosindell.

Cllr Van den Hende, said:

“On behalf of Havering Council, I would like to offer a huge thanks to all poppy sellers in our borough for the amazing work they do each year to raise huge sums for the Royal British Legion.

"In a world which seems increasingly unpredictable and divided, it’s important we should all come together and show our support to both the fallen, and all those who continue to put their lives on the line. We all owe them a great debt of gratitude for serving our country, and protecting our values freedom and way of life.”

The Romford branch of the Royal British Legion is always looking for more volunteers to help them sell poppies. If you can help, please email clubenquiries@romfordrbl.org.uk
