Havering Council's Children’s Services has won a prestigious award at the annual Mind of My Own (MOMO) conference yesterday.

The Council was awarded 'The Greatest number of users of MOMO' and MOMO also presented four children services team members with Hero certificates, for their champion efforts in promoting engagement of the application with children and social work professionals.

Tim Aldridge, The Council's Director of Children's Services, said:

"This is a great achievement for Havering and its social workers as it strives to deliver innovative working models in the community.  Last year Children’s Services launched, ‘Face to Face’, a transformational programme that supports practitioners to undertake increased direct work with children and families in the community, with the increased use of mobile technology and working.

"The Face to Face programme aligns practitioners to a systemic approach, which turns traditional practice on its head."

"It fits the system to the family rather than asking the family to fit to the system. The goal is that children and families experience interventions that work in collaboration with them, rather than being ‘done to them.’"
