Green and Clean Campaign comes to Collier Row

Published: Tuesday, 11 July 2017

Havering Council’s Green and Clean campaign will be coming to Hillrise Road in Collier Row on Friday 14 July 2017.

The event is being run in partnership with Highview Residents’ Association.

From 10am until 1pm volunteers will be joining Council staff to tidy up the area, plant some flowering plants and shrubs, as well as generally make it a more pleasant place to live.

Chair of the Highview Residents’ Association, Mark Adler, said: “This summer sees the opening of the new community centre behind Highfield Towers in Hillrise Road and we want to make sure that the area looks at its best when that opening takes place.

“This Green and Clean campaign day is our opportunity to achieve that objective and we hope residents will come along and join in for an hour or two as the more volunteers we have the more we will be able to achieve.”

Deputy Leader of Havering Council and Cabinet Member for Housing, Councillor Damian White, said: “Havering is very proud of being a green borough and our Community Clean-Ups are a way in which residents can help tidy up their area.

“We are pleased that Highview Residents’ Association is joining us for this special event to help make the area around the new community centre look as good as possible.

“Each month until October the Housing Services Community Engagement Team is coordinating clean-ups on different housing estates across Havering and we hope local residents will join in and help us make their area look good.”
