Bank holiday rubbish and recycling collections

During public and bank holidays our rubbish and recycling collection schedules change.

Collection times are likely to change. It is important that all sacks are presented by 7am on your revised collection day.

Next bank holiday: Christmas and New Years 2018/19

The change to collection days below is for rubbish and recycling (black and orange sacks) and clinical waste only. Rubbish and recycling and clinical collections return to normal on Monday 14 January.

There will be no garden or bulky waste collections from Monday 24 December. Garden and bulky waste collections start again in the week commencing Monday 7 January with your normal collection day and not the altered dates below.

Recycling at Christmas

You can recycle your Real Christmas trees by taking it to Gidea Park Sports Ground, Main Road, Romford on Saturday 5 January 2019 between 10am – 2pm.

You can also take your tree to Gerpins Lane Reuse and Recycling Centre.

If you are a garden waste customer you can also cut your tree into pieces and place it in your garden bin.

Electrical items

If you have received electrical items for Christmas that replace old ones you can put the old ones out next to your black and orange bags and they will be recycled.

Food waste 

Rather than throwing away food why not visit www.lovefoodhatewaste.com for tips and ideas on how to make the most of your leftovers. It saves money and is good for the environment.
