Local authority search
The Local Land Charges service maintains the statutory Local Land Charges Register. The register contains charges on properties and parcels of land located within the London Borough of Havering.
Examples of charges are:
- Tree Preservation Orders
- Enforcement Notices
- Listed Building Notices.
Most importantly, the charges on the register are binding on successive owners/occupiers.
To find out which boundary fence is yours, or for matters regarding ownership of land, please contact the Land Registry on 030 0006 0411. For drainage enquiries please contact Thames water or Anglian Water.
Types of Local Authority Searches
During the transfer of property from one owner to another, the Local Land Charges Department will upon request carry out a Local Authority Search, which can consist of a LLC1, CON29 and CON29O submission.
The LLC1 certificate will consist of any Local Land Charges (examples mentioned above) that are registered on the requested property.
The CON29 section of the search consists of information such as planning permissions, status of the road adoption and nearby traffic schemes relating to the property.
Box C of the CON29 application can be completed if you require a copy of the Highways Register to be included with the Local Authority Search result. Alternatively view the highways register and Highways Officer contact details online.
The CON29O section of the search consists of optional enquires such as pipelines and advertisements.

If we do not have all three of the above, the search cannot be accepted.
