Garden waste service
With our garden waste service you can order one or more 240-litre wheeled green bins to put your garden waste into.
Garden waste is collected every other week (except two weeks over Christmas) and disposed of for a fee of £70 per bin, per year.
You sign up to the service with an annual contract and we send contract renewal letters and emails with your contract details (reference number and charges) normally from the first week of March, over a several week period, each year.
The garden waste contract runs from 1 April to 31 March the following year and further details of the services offered can be found in the terms and conditions.
When you sign up or renew you will also get a sticker to display on your bin showing you have a valid contract with us.
Renew your garden waste contract
The renewal period for your garden waste contract is currently open.
Reminder emails and letters are being sent to you depending on your contact preference and location.
This means, as the renewal period runs over several weeks, you may not get a reminder until the end of the renewal period but the roads near you get reminders at the start of the period.
Please only follow the link to 'Renew your garden waste contract' or call the express payment line if you don't need to make any changes to your contract.
If you need to make changes please follow the instructions under the 'Change or cancel your garden waste contract' heading.
You will need your My Havering account login details to renew online. Get help with My Havering.

Sign up for the garden waste service
Call us on 01708 431717 (Monday to Friday 9am - 5pm, except bank holidays) to get a contract set up.
New contracts run April to March the following year with no discounts for starting later than April.
For example, if you take out a contract in October you will still pay the full price for a year and be asked to renew the following March.
If you don't want to do that you could use our compostable sack service.
If you want to sign up to the service and there is already a green garden waste bin at your property, perhaps left by a previous owner, we will not deliver a new bin to you.
Stickers for your bin
If you sign up or renew the service you will receive a sticker for your bin or bins.
You should get your sticker within 14 days after subscribing or renewing.
If your bin does not display the 2023/2024 sticker it will not be emptied from 12 June 2023 onwards.
Please note stickers will not be issued for compostable sacks.
The sticker shows that you have paid for one garden waste bin to be emptied during the period stated on the sticker. If you have paid for more than one bin you should have a sticker for each bin.
Missing a sticker?
If you are missing a sticker please let us know by using our enquiry form and selecting 'Garden Waste Sticker' from the dropdown.
Displaying your sticker
The sticker should be displayed as shown on the instructions in your letter.
If the sticker is not visible to our collection crew on your collection day your bin will not be emptied.
