Garden waste service
Havering residents can compost their used pumpkins in their green garden waste collection service bins. Simply remove all candles and decorations and pop it into the green wheeled bin, ready for your next collection. Unfortunately, pumpkins cannot be placed in the green compostable sacks. Better still, if you have your own compost bin, add the pumpkin to that and turn it into rich soil improver for your garden. For more information on home composting and our subsidised compost bin offer visit www.havering.gov.uk/compostdoctor
With our garden waste service you can order one or more 240-litre wheeled green bins to put your garden waste into.
Garden waste is collected every other week (except two weeks over Christmas) and disposed of for a fee of £55 a year per bin.
You sign up to the service with an annual contract and we send contract renewal letters and emails with your contract details (reference number and charges) normally from the first week of March, over a several week period, each year.
The garden waste contract runs from 1 April to 31 March the following year, further details of the services offered can be found in the terms and conditions.
