Garden and bulky waste services suspended, orange sacks and Gerpins Lane closed

Collections, and the renewal of contracts for garden waste bins and compostable sacks, has stopped. We advise you to home compost as much of your green garden waste as you can. We will not be collecting bulky waste until further notice and the Reuse and Recycling Centres at Gerpins Lane is closed. Running out of orange sacks? Put your recycling in a bag that is either clear or as see-through as possible, and label it as recycling. Go to our service disruption page for details

Coronavirus waste disposal advice

Tissues, disposable gloves and other related items used by anyone with suspected COVID-19 and those cleaning up afterwards, should be double bagged, then stored securely for 72 hours before being thrown away inside your usual black sack waste. You should not put this waste out with your usual rubbish for weekly collections until negative test results are known or the waste has been stored for at least 72 hours. Cleaning advice from GOV.UK

With our garden waste service you can order one or more 240-litre wheeled green bins to put your garden waste into.

Garden waste is collected every other week (except two weeks over Christmas) and disposed of for a fee of £55 a year per bin.

You sign up to the service with an annual contract and we send contract renewal letters and emails with your contract details (reference number and charges) normally from the first week of March, over a several week period, each year.

The garden waste contract runs from 1 April to 31 March the following year, further details of the services offered can be found in the terms and conditions.

Renew your garden waste contract

The renewal period for your garden waste contract is currently suspended.

We advise you to compost as much of your green garden waste as you can at home.

Change or cancel your garden waste contract

With the service suspended please call us on 01708 431717 (Monday to Friday 9am - 5pm) to discuss.

Want to get a garden waste subscription?

Unfortunately we are not taking new garden waste bin contracts at the moment.

If you don't want to do that you could use our compostable sack service.

If you want to sign up to the service and there is already a green garden waste bin at your property, perhaps left by a previous owner, we will not deliver a new bin to you.

Garden waste service 2020 to 2021 bin stickerStickers for your bin

If you sign up or renew the service you will receive a sticker for your bin or bins.

You should receive your sticker 14 days after subscribing or renewing.

Please note: Stickers will not be issued for compostable sacks.

The sticker shows that you have paid for one garden waste bin to be emptied during the period stated on the sticker. If you have paid for more than one bin you should have a sticker for each bin.

Missing a sticker?

If you are missing a sticker please let us know by using our enquiry form and selecting 'Garden Waste Sticker' from the dropdown.

Displaying your sticker

The sticker should be displayed as shown on the instructions in your letter.

If the sticker is not visible to our collection crew on your collection day your bin will not be emptied.
