Your privacy is paramount to Havering Council and we are committed to protecting your privacy online. We will treat any personal information by which you can be identified (i.e. name, address, email etc.) in accordance with the provisions of the Data Protection Act of 1998.
The collection of information is for the purpose of communicating with you in regards to Havering Council. We will not sell, trade or rent your information to other third parties. We will not collect any personal information without your knowledge. This information will be collected for a known purpose that you understand and will not be used in future for any other reason other than the one it is being collected for in the first instance.
The Council uses log analysis software to record page views and visits and this records a visitors IP address. This information is not used for any other purpose than identifying unique visitors and the site those visitors may have been referred from.
We do this to:
- Store information needed to make the website and the applications on it work properly
- Customise the site and its services so they remember your preferences
- Find out how people are using the site
