Winter service

Make sure you are prepared for winter this year. Follow our twitter feed @ LBofHavering for up to date information on ice alerts, the weather forecast and when we will be out gritting.

Our fleet of gritters are out working hard to help keep the roads clear, so everyone can get around the borough safely during the current winter weather.

We also have teams out keeping pavements and bridges as clear as possible.

We’ve got:

  • Five gritting lorries
  • 2,000 tonnes of salt in our depot – enough to grit up to over 380 miles of roads and sufficient for almost three weeks of continuous snowfall
  • A team of winter heroes on-call 24/7 including weekends
