Arts in Havering

Havering's year round programme of arts and entertainment, includes events, concerts and activities at Fairkytes Arts Centre, music tuition at Havering Music School, performances at the Queens Theatre and numerous outdoor arts festivals and exhibitions.

Fairkytes Arts Centre and Fairkytes Live

Fairkytes Arts Centre is a friendly community arts centre based in the heart of Hornchurch. It offers a wide range of arts, crafts and performance activities for adults and children as well as regular concerts under the Fairkytes Live banner, including opportunities for local talent to perform.

Rooms, studios and performance spaces are available for hire and Fairkytes hosts a large number of clubs and societies. There is also a craft gallery and shop selling work created by local craftspeople.

Arts festivals and events

Havering's annual cultural programme includes the Havering Arts Festival, the Langtons Summer Concert, Music for a Winter's Night season of classical and chamber music, Havering Music School concerts and community events hosted by the Queen's Theatre.

Havering Children’s Paddington Stories Volume 1

Earlier this year, Havering Arts Development and Havering Libraries invited children to send in stories about the much loved bear.

Imaginative tales featured include Paddington taking a trip to the North Pole, battling an alien and saving the crown jewels.

So many stories have been sent in that a second volume will follow in a few weeks.
