Youth offending work in the community

We offer community interventions in line with restorative justice approaches and legislation to all young people who come to the youth offending service as long as it is appropriate to do so.

The aim of all our projects are to support young people to value in greater measure their community, and understand better the harm they have caused it.

All our intervention in this area comes with a guarantee of official AQA accreditation (entry level) to aid young people in education and potential career paths.

Reparation

This is typically for young people under 16 and can be part of a community order made by community panel members or the courts.

Unpaid work

This is typically for young people over 16 and would be an attachment to a community order made by the courts.

Junior Attendance Centre (JAC)

We provide this intervention at weekends to Havering young people, but also to young people from the London Boroughs of Barking and Dagenham and Redbridge.

The JAC is provided to young people who need contact at the weekend and is delivered by a professional commissioned service.

We provide accreditations for young people in skills such as bricklaying, electrics, first aid and road safety, and the package is revised on a yearly basis.
