Waste collection changes to beat the heat

Published: Friday, 15 July 2022

Rubbish and recycling collection times will change next week in order to protect staff as temperatures continue to soar.

From Monday 18 July through to Friday 22 July, collections will start one hour earlier than usual from 6am.

This will help our contractors Serco and their crews to work in lower temperatures earlier in the day and try to avoid the most intense heat later.

Residents should have their bags out ready for collection for 6am on the day of their normal collection.

We thank residents for their support and understanding and aim to keep disruption to a minimum.
