Branching out to report trees online

Published: Friday, 31 March 2023

Havering Council has set up a new way for residents to report issues with trees online, as part of an ongoing upgrade of digital services.

The Council’s Tree Team is responsible for the maintenance of trees on Havering’s highways and on land it owns or manages.

The new service will enable residents to report an issue with a tree online while on the go, on their mobile and on other devices.

The system uses Google Maps, which gives residents a more accurate location of the Council’s tree stock.

Residents can find the tree they are reporting on the map and upload a picture of the issue with the tree.

The Tree Team can now share automatic progress updates about the job, including photos of the work carried out in real time with our contractors undertaking the work.

Councillor Paul Middleton, Cabinet Member for Corporate, Culture and Leisure Services, said:

“Havering is full of environmentally-conscious residents who care deeply for their communities and the place they live, so it’s only right that they have a quick, easy and effective way to report issues as they arise.

“This upgrade to our reporting system will make it easier for our officers to keep their finger on the pulse when it comes to issues with trees.”
