The excitement continues as we enter the second round of Havering’s Small Business Awards 2025.
The awards celebrate the innovation, dedication and success of local businesses that contribute to our community.
In this crucial phase, businesses that have successfully cleared the cross-Council checks with services such as enforcement, trading standards and public protection have been published on the Council website.
Next week, Council colleagues will be contacting the shortlisted businesses to explain what they now need to do to showcase their unique strengths and achievements, telling us why they deserve to win the category award.
80 percent of the scores will rely on the businesses demonstrating how they meet the category criteria, and 20 percent will be focused on the sustainable practices and environmental responsibility they show.
We will then add the total number of public votes to make up the final scores before the category sponsors then decide who their three finalists are, and their category winner.
The top three finalists for each category will be contacted again in July to invite them to the awards evening, which will take place in September.
Councillor Ray Morgon, Leader of Havering Council, said:
“We encourage all participants to put their best foot forward and showcase why they deserve to be recognised as one of Havering’s top small businesses.
"Good luck to everyone!”
The category for Best Shopfront has been extended due to the low number of entries.
If you’re a Havering Small Business with a gorgeous shopfront, or you’re a customer that admires the effort that your local businesses put into the front of their shops, get nominating!
Please send the business name, full address and a photo of the shopfront along with your full name, postcode and phone number to smallbusinessawards@havering.gov.uk by 3pm on Friday 30 May 2025.
