Large crowds descended on Langtons Gardens, Hornchurch, on Sunday 8 June, to enjoy an afternoon of classical music as the Langtons Summer Concert returned for 2025.
The sold-out crowd of around 1,800 revellers saw the Westminster Philharmonic Orchestra take to the stage once again, as they delivered a light selection of classical favourites.
The Leader of Havering Council, Councillor Ray Morgon, said:
“Thanks to all attendees who turned out in huge numbers and contributed to a special atmosphere at the Langtons Summer Concert on Sunday.
“I thoroughly enjoyed the event which proves to be even more popular each year, made special by wonderful music from The Westminster Philharmonic Orchestra.
“The concert is such a local favourite; it provides a great sense of community with many families and friends in attendance.
“A big thank you to West and Coe Funeral Directors who have been the event’s key sponsor for a number of years, co-sponsor Elm Site Services and Mullis and Peake LLP Solicitors who also generously supported the concert.
“The gardens themselves looked in great condition again this year, so a well done to our Parks Team and to the Friends of Langtons Estate, who also provided refreshments for guests on the day.”
The Mayor of Havering, Cllr Sue Ospreay, said:
“It was an honour to join attendees, local councillors and Mayors from other boroughs at a truly memorable event.
“Huge credit to the Westminster Philharmonic Orchestra, event sponsors and the Friends of Langtons Estate for making the concert such a success.
“Thanks to everyone at the concert for also supporting the charity raffle for the MCA Trust, my chosen mayoral charity, who provide support for local children with cancer and their families.
"Your contributions will make such a difference.”
