The planning application for the highly anticipated Angel Way car park site has been submitted.
It follows extensive public engagement and positive community feedback, marking a significant milestone in the progress for the proposal.
The proposed development include modern homes, commercial spaces and community facilities designed to enhance the local area.
Angel Way will see the demolition of the ageing multi-storey car park and creation of 106 new homes.
Councillor Graham Williamson, Cabinet Member for Development and Regeneration, said:
“The community’s response to the proposed scheme has been supportive, expressing the need to revitalise the area and provide much-needed housing and amenities for local people.
“The development team has been actively engaging with the community throughout the planning process, through a number of resident events, to make sure the project addresses local concerns and priorities.
“I’d like to thank everyone for taking the time to share their views and show support for this Angel Way scheme.”
Christopher Hobbs, Director, Mercury Land Holdings, said:
“We are pleased to submit the planning application for Angel Way project.
“The proposals are a result of significant engagement, will regenerate a part of Romford and deliver much needed new homes in the locality, replacing the ageing multi-storey car park."
