Priory Green, Harold Hill, is the second much-loved open space to be officially granted village green status as part of this year’s dedications.
The dedication event, which took place on Saturday 26 July 2025, unveiled a stone plaque declaring the green space an official village green by Leader of the Council, Councillor Ray Morgon, along with Harold Hill ward Councillors Paul McGeary and Patricia Brown.
The project is part of Havering’s broader initiative to protect and improve much-loved green spaces in the borough and joins Platford Village Green, which was formerly dedicated last weekend.
Residents were also invited to attend a community picnic, to celebrate the village green dedication.
Councillor Ray Morgon, said:
“It has been great to see the community come together and celebrate with us.
“I’m pleased to be able to once again say that safeguarding Priory Green for future generations as a vital community asset was a manifesto promise we made and are now delivering.”
The summer of celebrations continues with the following dedications to join Platford Village Green, Priory Village Green and the five village greens dedicated in 2024.
