The planning application for the Como Street Car Park site has been submitted.

The plans propose the delivery of 137 homes, and have been revised to include changes in the building heights, reflecting the community’s input and Council’s willingness to listen to local residents concerns.

The site itself is suffering from extensive fly-tipping and will benefit from the regeneration.

Councillor Graham Williamson, Cabinet Member for Development and Regeneration, said:

“Throughout this process the development team have made sure the project addressed local concerns and priorities.

“I’d like to thank everyone for taking the time to share their views and show support for this Como Street scheme.”

Christopher Hobbs, Director, Mercury Land Holdings, said:

“We are pleased to submit the planning application for the Como Street project.

“Working closely with local residents has proved to be invaluable in helping to shape our plans.

“We are committed to delivering a development that meets the aspirations of local residents whilst delivering much needed homes in the Romford area.”
