Havering Council will once again mark Baby Loss Awareness Week with a special ceremony of remembrance at Havering Town Hall, Romford.
The ceremony will take place from 6.30pm on Thursday 9 October 2025, where parents and families will join The Mayor of Havering, Cllr Sue Ospreay, to commemorate much-missed babies.
Attendees will be invited to light LED candles and place personalised written messages on tree branches outside Havering Town Hall, which will also be lit up pink and blue to mark Baby Loss Awareness Week.
This year is the 23rd year of Baby Loss Awareness Week (9 to 15 October 2025) nationally.
It provides an opportunity to raise awareness of the impact of baby loss, whilst recognising the important role of bereavement support for parents and families.
The Mayor of Havering, Councillor Sue Ospreay, said:
“The ceremony at Havering Town Hall on Thursday 9 October will be an emotional evening as we collectively remember much-loved and much-missed babies.
“Each year, the Ceremony of Remembrance creates a space where everyone can come together, feel welcome, and reflect on baby loss, whatever each individual’s experiences may be.
“I look forward to us collectively making a difference to bereaved parents and families across the borough.”
