The Havering Small Business Awards ‘Best Tradesperson’ and ‘Small Business of the Year 2025’, Nick’s Locks, has been featured on JCDecaux advertising digital screens across the borough, as part of the advertising prize for the overall winner of this year’s awards.

Nick Chapman, from Nick’s Locks, was joined in Romford Town Centre by Andrew Jordan, from JCDecaux UK and Councillor Graham Williamson, Cabinet Lead for Development and Regeneration, to see his advertisement go live on the new digital screens for the next two weeks.

Nick said:

"Winning the Havering Small Business Award for Best Tradesperson, and the overall Small Business of the Year Award, has honestly been a huge boost for me and my little business.

"I’ve always just focused on doing a good job and looking after people locally, so to be recognised like this means a lot.

"It’s also brought in new customers who’ve seen the adverts or heard about the award. People seem to really like using someone who’s trusted and local.

"Seeing my advert up on digital screens around the borough is a bit surreal, to be honest.

"You don’t expect to see your name up there when you’re just a one-man band, but I’m really proud of it."

Andrew Jordan, JC Decaux UK Partnership Director said:

"We’re delighted to partner with Havering Council on this competition to champion brilliant local businesses.

"This initiative gives Nick’s Locks a powerful opportunity to build brand fame and awareness across the borough, engaging people in the heart of the community through the impact of Out-of-Home advertising.

"Our premium digital screens reach audiences across the borough, helping ambitious brands scale, grow and stand out where it matters most."

Councillor Williamson, said:

"The Havering Small Business Awards not only celebrates Nick’s Locks’ outstanding achievement as this year’s overall winner, but it also reinforces our position as a borough that champions small businesses and promotes entrepreneurial success stories.

"I’d like to thank JCDecaux for their generous sponsorship of this year’s prize for our overall winner, and all our sponsors.

"Without their support we wouldn’t be able to run such a successful awards scheme for our Havering small businesses."
