Residents from care homes and those receiving care at home across Havering have come together for a heart-warming celebration at Romford Baptist Church last Friday, 28 November 2025.
The annual Christmas party, hosted by Havering Care Association, was an afternoon filled with joy, music, and festive spirit.
The event is a cherished tradition that brings together older people, individuals with learning disabilities and autism, and their carers.
Each provider member of the association invited up to five residents to enjoy a full Christmas meal, while supporting carers were treated to a buffet lunch. Dedicated chefs and staff from care providers volunteered their time to make the occasion truly special.
Guests were entertained with live music, dancing, a singer, and even a visit from Father Christmas.
Jenny Freeman, Secretary of Havering Care Association said:
"This party is a wonderful opportunity to spread joy and create lasting memories for those who need it most.
“It’s a highlight of the year for everyone involved."
Councillor Ray Morgon, Leader of Havering Council, said:
“This celebration embodies the true meaning of community and togetherness during the festive season.
“It aligns perfectly with the Council’s #ChristmasMeansCommunity campaign, showcasing the power of kindness, community and connection in Havering.”
