More than 92 percent of Havering pupils were offered one of their top three choices of secondary schools on National Offer Day (Monday 2 March 2026).

This ranks Havering 4 percent above the London average.

A total of 3,264 pupils were offered places in Havering Secondary School this year, with 3,127 being offered one of their top three choices.

Meanwhile, 74.75 percent (2,525) pupils were offered their first preference.

Over 90 pupils were offered out-of-borough grammar schools, which is up from 77 last year, with a total of 369 pupils being offered schools out of the borough.

The Council’s Schools Admissions Team handled a total of 3,378 applications from Havering residents, which was slightly more than last year’s 3,317 applications.

Councillor Oscar Ford, Cabinet Member for Children and Young People, said:

“Congratulations to the thousands of pupils who have received one of their preferred school choices.

“The borough has some excellent schools, which is reflected in their Ofsted ratings, so pupils can be assured that the school they will be attending in September will provide an excellent learning and nurturing environment.

“I would like to personally thank the school admissions team who do an amazing job of providing information, advice and guidance, which allows parents and families to make their choice; and for co-ordinating the offers to help pupils as much as possible to get into the school they choose.

“I would also like to thank the school organisation team who have worked with schools to deliver an expansion programme which has added much-needed school places in recent years.”
