Large crowds descended on Langtons Gardens, Hornchurch, on Sunday 7 June, to enjoy an afternoon of classical music as the Langtons Summer Concert returned for 2026.
The sold-out crowd of around 2,000 revellers saw the Westminster Philharmonic Orchestra take to the stage once again, as they delivered a selection of classical favourites.
The Leader of Havering Council, Councillor Keith Prince AM, said:
“Thanks to all the attendees who turned out in huge numbers and contributed to a tremendous atmosphere at the Langtons Summer Concert on Sunday.
“I thoroughly enjoyed the ever-popular event, made special by wonderful music from The Westminster Philharmonic Orchestra.
“The concert proves to be such a local favourite, and it always provides a great sense of community thanks to the many families and friends in attendance.
“A big thank you to West and Coe Funeral Directors who have been the event’s main sponsor for several years, and co-sponsors Elm Site Services and Mullis and Peake LLP Solicitors for generously supporting the concert.
“The gardens themselves are also in great condition again this year, so a huge well done to the Council’s Parks Team and to the Friends of Langtons Estate, who also provided refreshments for guests on the day.”
The Mayor of Havering, Councillor Maggie Themistocli, said:
“It was an honour to join all the attendees, local councillors and Mayors from other boroughs at a truly memorable event.
“A huge congratulations to the Westminster Philharmonic Orchestra, the event sponsors, the Council’s Culture Team and the Friends of Langtons Estate for making the concert such a success and to the crowd for supporting the event and continuing its wonderful legacy.”
